we found termite pellets and termites contained by a tree we cut down about 10 to 12 foot from our house. shoud we worry something like the termites gettting into our house?

Possibly- though I would think the termites would already be surrounded by your house from while the tree was still up.

Have a reputable pest control company come out and inspect your home.

Answers:    It's not likely that the termites kill the tree since they don't eat green wood but you should own an extermination company come out and treat around the outside of your house and check to make sure the pesky things are not already inside. If you live surrounded by termite country it is good to seize an inspection every couple of years. Some company's will provide a service that includes inspections and any needed treatment for a specified length of time such as one or two years.
