Could it hold be a gnat, or be it a flea? We have gnats in our house from a house plant gone unpromising....
We have gnats in our house from a house plant gone unpromising. This morning, I found a small, black bug on my daughter. I flicked it off. Then it hopped a couple of inches (very quickly! It looked more similar to it teleported) and I squished it. Blood smeared out. Apart from my obvious freaking out that's going on, here are the facts: We have two colossal dogs who are treated for fleas. We don't see any fleas or flea "residue" on them or their bedding or anywhere they spend their time. I have yet to find any other indicator that we own fleas. I am currently washing every piece of fabric contained by my house in hot water. My examine is, is it possible what I saw was a gnat that had lost its wing? Do gnats eat blood and hop?
Answers: No, it was a flea.
