I have moved into ahouse near loads of large terracotta pots within the garden - they are all contained by resonable condition (i.e. not broken etc) but could do with a serious verbs - what the best way to bring these gleaming again?

Answers:    Before you clean, document that many gardeners prefer pots next to some age on them, be it green (mold, mildew), or white (efflorescence, lime leaching out of the soil or pot).

But, if you want them to look new again, soap and dampen with a scrubby sponge commonly works, or if the white remains, go next to white vineager and the scrubby sponge. If you add some bleach to any, it will keep rear the green growth.

Here's what you do:

Soak the pot for at least 24 hours surrounded by a large plastic bucket beside a solution of 1 part bleach and 9 parts wet. (The longer you soak pots, the easier they'll be to clean.) If you're cleaning a roomy pot, fill a rubbish can with cleaning solution, and submerge the dirty pot.

Scrub the inside of the pot next to a wire brush you may inevitability a knife to remove especially gummy deposits.

Once the pot is thoroughly cleaned, soak it for 15 minutes contained by a bucket of clear water to remove traces of bleach that could spoil plants
