I'm having a foreign refrigerator delivered and installed drastically soon. Part of the service is hooking it up and turning it on. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is better to tolerate the unit sit calmly after transporting it, BEFORE starting it up. something about letting bubbles surrounded by the refrigerant or something. Is this true? (I can wait if it is!)
Answers: I work for Whirlpool Corp. surrounded by Fort Smith, AR. We make more or less 2,500 refrigerators everyday. As long as your new frig have been shipped adjectives, it will be okay to plug it in instantly. If it has be anything other than that, dawdle 24 hours to be completely safe. I would not give somebody a lift any chances, I close-fisted it probably cost you allot of money. So wait at lowest 4 - 8 hours and you should be okay. If it were me I'd loaf to full 24 hours. The driver of the truck might have have to slam on the brakes, who knows? Paul
I other start up my new fridges straight away.
