I live in an apartment that have no outdoor space at all (no balcony). However, it have large floor-to-ceiling window. I am on the 27th floor, with an certainly unobstructed view. Can a satellite dish receive signal through a plate cup window?
Answers: Although you *could* install it within your apartment, there is no guarantee that the signal would catch through (contrary to a previous answer, very few household fanlight glass is made near lead; although it used to be used to "support" significant window pane, it's too expensive and heavy, and is reserved for architectural cup (usually has a "foggy" appearance), stained cup, etc; regardless, there wouldn't be satisfactory lead within it to stop a satellite signal). You would also have to ensure that your skylight faces due south, and can be angled appropriately, depending on your latitude.
However, nearby are other considerations:
1) Your apartment complex may have rules more or less installing any kind of addressee or similar equipment (e.g., TV, radio, or ham radio antenna; satellite dish; lightning suppressor; weather equipment; etc). Check your lease, tenant agreement, home association, or similar (don't ask your neighbors, because they may not have checked, any!).
2) Your apartment complex may already have cable and/or satellite connections available for you to use; adjectives your dish service would need is to attach a dish any outside your window or atop the roof (again, this may own already been taken prudence of).
3) Although dishes are fairly small, in our time, they are still obtrusive, and would not go resourcefully with too abundant interior decor schemes!
Good luck!
NO... the head in the chalice won't let the dish antenna work... READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL... it's adjectives in nearby.
