Hi all,
I purchased a spanking new set of Calphalon Contemporary Non-stick Pans (aluminum exterior) to go beside our GE Propane Stove. The problem is, every time I use any of the pans/pots, I get a black residue explicitly in the shape of the flame specifically a royal pain within the butt to clean sour. It's almost like the aluminum fabric is burning off? I hadn't hear of any incompatibilities between the aluminum pans and propane stove, but I be wondering if I would have be better off using the full stainless steel set. Would I hold the same problem near those also? Any feedback would be great.
Answers: The soot is caused not by the aluminum but by an unbecomingly working stove. You need to enjoy the gas pressure checked, the air shutter may not be crack, or you may be using the wrong gas. Have a tech check it for you if you don't know. Soot production is a sign of carbon monoxide production, too. The gas stove, if working properly, should leave little if any soot.
are you getting the residue on the inside or outside of the pan?
