Answers:    Zelkova is an outdoor tree, and it requests a cold winter to survive. It is also "deciduous" which means it will turn a stumble color and lose it's leaves in the winter. You requirement to water it when the top inch of the soil is dry. If you would similar to complete care instructions, you're greeting to send an email to me at:

I would water it similar to any other plant. Moisten the soil, then re-water once the soil have completely dried out. Bonsai trees are small because they are deprived of some environmental (like root space) factors, but I wouldn't deprive them of too much sea.

If your tree is indoors it shouldn't turn completely yellow. The seasonal responses by trees are mostly due to soil warmth. If you don't have any topical buds coming, I might start to worry.
