Ants devour Aphids, which are bad for plants, so I'd enunciate Ants are mostly beneficial. Some however aren't.

Both.
Good: Ants loosen up soil which allows better water infiltration and makes it easier for the roots to grow. Most ants will verbs other pests that can be harmful... but will also verbs helpful bugs.
Bad: Ants DO NOT drink aphids. Ants will protect aphids from predators so the aphids can be milked (kind of like a cow) for a sweet substance call "honeydew". If you see ants carrying aphids, those aphids are being moved from one plant to another, or they're human being moved underground for the winter... yes, ants do that.
Unless you have a intensely specific reason why you want ants, consider them more fruitless than good.
Answers: Ants are bad for plants, especially if the plant is surrounded by a pot. Ants ruin the roots of a plant.
If the plant are in your garden use Ant Sand to return with rid of them. If the ants are in your potted plant metamorphosis the soil or apply Ant Sand.
Ants are usually good for a garden. They loosen up the soil and plant roots can grow more slickly. A peony (Memorial day flowers) will not depart and bloom with out ants on them. Also, they chomp through some bad bugs. Ants maneuver by a sense of smell so smelly stuff resembling cloves and cinnamon confuse them and they receive lost. Poisons used to kill ants will assassinate good bugs, pets and some empire too, so please avoid them. Hope this helps.
