we have FIVE infant possums in our tool shed and the city wont pick them up unless they're trapped. i'm told they fetch typhus so i'm freaking out! anyone know how to get rid of these creatures?

Get an animal trap, but some meat or something within it, and they should go contained by there so you can lock in them. Just watch because they hold really sharp teeth.

Being very cagey and prepared for the mother to defend her babies, amble into the shed and over to the little tykes. They shouldn't be a threat at all. If they are still really childish, you can gently serving spoon them into the pillowcase using the shovel.

If they are old plenty to run really fast and avoid you, you may need to buy a trap..or put on your "farming" hat on and gun down them with the shovel. One strong blow to the rear of the head is adjectives it takes.

Answers:    If you trap them and the city picks them up, are they going to eradicate them? If they still need their mom, are you separating them? I used to hold dog biscuits to feed coons and possums when I lived within Texas. I didn't get close to them, they didn't bother my cats, and I be never freaked out by them.
