Air Conditioning? Can someone please tell me if an a/c that is 7,000 BTUs...

Can someone please tell me if an a/c that is 7,000 BTUs is knowledgeable of cooling a room 14' X 18' ?

We bought one & the room is not cool after 14 hours, as far as I am concerned and I'm ready to return it.

Answers:    Ensure you have the controls set properly on unit. Doors/windows closed. Place a thermometer contained by unit where the heavens is coming out and see the temp. Unit should cool that size room.

Most rooms have air conditioning but I would give the name first. Ask to speak to Joseph (Jr. not Sr., the old guy is a major brick) when you bid. Ask also about the private balconies overlooking the refuse dump on the south side of the building. They say it doesn't get much better.
