The sink drain in my upstairs bathroom give off a sulfurous odor every time someone runs the hose. It can't be the water, because the two other sinks within the house and the washing device don't have any odor at adjectives. The longer the water runs, the more sulfur smell comes up out of the drain. Why is this stirring? More importantly, what can I do to make it stop scheduled? The sink has one of those built-in stoppers, and I'm not sure I can remove it, so anything that would work next to that in place would be doubly caring. Thanks!
Answers: i can't tell you what is cause the odor, but here's a good at-home remedy to try:
pour something like 1/2 c baking soda down the drain
follow it with 1c white vinegar
cover the drain next to a washcloth or stopper
fill a teakettle and agree to boil
pour boiling water down the drain
cut: baking soda + vinegar is better than drano and liquid plumber at cleaning stuck on gunk out of your pipes...it's not 'just for a moment baking soda' and it is so much better for the environment than chemicals!
I didn't see your first post, so I might be repeating answers, but maybe you call for to call a plumber within and have the pipes changed. Have you tried using a drain cleaner resembling Drano, Liquid Plumber, etc.? Even if it's not clogged it might flush out whatever is making the stink. It sounds resembling it's more of a problem than a little baking soda will pocket care of. Don't know how advantageous that was. I sure hope you win rid of it soon!
