Would sandbags be a moral solution to stop a potential trickle within a drain? The sewage drain has be cleared twice after a repeat blockage,...

The sewage drain has be cleared twice after a repeat blockage, and apparently unless it blocks again, United Utilities won't do anything. The first thing we know about the blockage be when it was running down the drive, a significantly distressing scenario for me. I'm terrified that when it rain, it'll fill up and run sewage down our driveway again. Obviously when I'm at home I can see for myself whether it is leak, but I'm going away for 2 weeks soon, my bf's mum is housesitting. I don't want to come home and wonder whether the drain has leak and been walk through the house by people coming and going. I'm thinking of lay sandbags over it for the two weeks we are away.
I'm in the UK and it doesn't rainfall heavily very commonly, but I don't want to risk it. Would sandbags stem the flow if the drain cannot cope with a speedy fall of precipitation?
I don't really know what else to do to ease my mind. I've spent days disinfecting the house after the finishing leak. I can't do it again.
Answers:    Sounds close to you need a irremediable solution. Good drain people use cameras to check on the pipework surrounded by case of collapse or poor layout etc. I would ask other drain firms for counsel and estimates as your current one doesn't sound remarkably helpful. Bear within mind that although a thorough investigation plus a repair may be costly - in the long run you will squirrel away money and have peace of mind. What nearly your house insurance - can they finance this work? Worth asking. Also most local authorities own lists of 'fair trades' so should know how to point you towards a decent firm. I quality the sand bag opinion may not work for sure as the stuff will want to find another outlet which could be just as inconvenient.
I would also consult to your environmental health officer at the council as he/she may be capable of advise further.
Good luck.
you own not said if this is the sewer running the length of the street to be precise blocking or wether it is draining running from your house to the main sewer. what be the cause of the blockage, obese, debris, or nonspecific years of build up. if this is an ongoing problem which is guaranteed to happen contact the enviromwntal form dept. mention children etc etc and watch them hop through hoops for you
