Would a clogged filter on a furnace do the soaring cut back gasket to break? They charged us a good deal of money to fix our furnace...

They charged us a good deal of money to fix our furnace today and said it would not be covered by warranty as the clogged filter cause the problem. Can anyone in the know confirm? Thanks
Answers:    yes a plugged filter will give somebody a lift out a high rein in switch, it will drastically shorten the life of your furnace, can and will break steam exchangers---all of this is not covered by warranties because YOU are expected to A amendment the filter yourself, of B pay a contractor to do it for you
It is possible that the reduced airflow arising from the dirty filter cause the plenum to overheat, cracking the gasket. But replacing a gasket should be cheap.
