Window A/C Unit -- not cooling, lone aficionado is working...? We have a glass A/C unit bought unmarked in 2000. ...
We have a glass A/C unit bought unmarked in 2000. It be amazingly efficient and powerful. In 2002, we moved to a house near central nouns and the A/C was put into the (dry) underground store. Now, six years later, we get it out, hoping to sell it. Only the hanger-on is working. It will not cool at all.
What could hold happened to it? (It be just sitting!) Is in attendance an easy DIY fix, or something I can suggest to a potential buyer? Or is it a lost explanation?
Thanks!
Answers: Unfortunately, it sounds like the freon leak out. There are new coolants immediately and freon is less and smaller amount available, since it harms the environment. It would have leak out over time, sooner or later it other does, but it can be expensive to have it recharged and if it be knocked around during the removal, move or storage, in attendance could be other problems. You can take it to an HVAC shop for a look but they may charge more than you would return with for it. There is no DIY fix, but some taker might know a place to take it - it depends on how bleak they want the unit and how nice it is whether they will pay envelope for this and take the risk it won't work, though.
changeover the filter and clean the coils..you can buy a coil cleaner at home depot for 6.00 spray it on coils tolerate sit 20 minutes then rinse allow 2 hours to dry afterwards plug in and try it
