If I turn my heat down during the time when nobody is home will it cost me more money to bake the house back up when someone get home? I usually just turn it down to nearly 68 degrees. I own a gas heater.
Answers:    They read out for every degree that you turn your roast down while you aren't home you save 8% on your bill. I turn mine down to 62 while I am gone at work from 6:15 surrounded by the morning till 4:30 in the afternoon, why bake the house for the dust bunnies! I turn it back up to 70 when I win home. No it isn't costing you more to heat the house spinal column up. You would be wasting the money to heat it while you aren't home. I use lp gas, beside an electric furnace.
