There is frost on the pipes and no air is coming from the vents,
Your coils are frozen up.Aether they are dirty or you hold not changed your filter for a long time.Turn your thermostat into the on position not in auto.
Then put your temp. all the channel up let this run for 2 hours this will melt adjectives the water off the coils. Then look at the coils and see if they call for cleaning. If you had no filter in place the coils call for cleaning. If you just did not change it surrounded by months then and you have one consequently after the coil is thawed then put a hot filter in place and put the unit hindmost into auto and try it. But make sure the coil has completely thaw put before doing this. ooh, we had one and the same problem i dont know why it does that but someone told us to instead of having the ac on just own it on Fan mone until it unfreezes and then turn it back into ac. that used to start to our ac a lot and not it dont or at least it hasnt contained by a long time.
If the evaporator is a block of rime you are not moving enough air.
And since you mentioned the pipes and not the evaporator (the inside coil) I bet you haven't looked at your filter lately.
Open adjectives the vents in the house, trademark sure your filter is clean and of an type that is not too restrictive. Your blower pedals made need to be cleaned. All to move more air.
A dirty blower rudder makes a big difference. So don't dismiss that one easily and general public rarely get them cleaned. I can see it and guess the effect of dirty vs. clean blower wheel smoothly in heat mode by measure temperatures. So I know the impact is big.
If is possible it is oversized for the ducting system but if that were the travel case you would have that problem from day one.
Good Luck.
Answers: It sounds similar to it is froze up. Check the filter, if it is totally stopped up this could cause the problem. If the evaporator coil is dirty because the filter hasn't been changed for a while this could block the upper air flow causing the unit to freeze up. Another motive could be the freon charge is low. It an ac runs at night when it is cold that could be a cause also. I would turn the ac past its sell-by date and turn the fan on this will thaw the rime quicker. Another thing i didn't mention is that if the fan motor have stopped running it will also cause freezing up and no air flow.
You are running the air conditioner too long. You can use the fan on the heavens conditioner also.
