Our riding lawn mower was working fine until my husband hit a immense stick. Now it won't even start. We changed the spark plug, checked the gas, checked the oil, and charged the battery. When we try to start it, it seem like everything is in decree aside from it starting up. Please help... Our yard is turning into a jungle!
Jenn.10 - 1 it's the flywheel key. Unless you or your husband are dutiful with tools you'll have to lift it to a dealer/repair shop to get it fixed. You and your husband have looked it over already. It's time immediately to take it to a professional.
i know this may sound dumb...but check to see if the button is pushed that starts the blades...most of the time, when you hit a large stick...the blades stop mowing BUT the button is pushed still - the mower won't start if that button is still pushed. * i hold done this before- that's why i'm suggesting it :(* You might have bent the crankshaft, turn it over and turn the blade by hand, if it won't turn or turns surrounded by a wobbly fashion then you own bent the crankshaft, but not to worry, I did that and with a 2lb sledge sledge hammer bent it back and it works fine.
broke something u can't see...

check the blades if there is something caught contained by there push mowers don't start so check that out sounds like he sheared the timing pin. you obligation to take it too a repair shop and get it fixed
Answers:    You could hold sheared the flywheel to crankshaft key. That will cause the ignition timing to be sour and most of the time will not start. You have to remove the engine cowling and the flywheel nut to be able to see the keyways contained by the flywheel and the crankshaft. If they are not aligned remove the flywheel and replace the key. Also check the wire that go to the fuel shut off soleniod on the bottom of the carburetor. I have have mine come off and it won't start. If you do remove the flywheel make sure to torque the nut hindmost on to around 50ft/lbs.
