Why wont my antediluvian riding prairie mower turnover or start?

My wife worked at a mower repair store. The usual trouble after winter was cured by taking out the older fuel ( which ages)letting the tank dry, fill up on with fresh (not from ending years can) and then verbs the plugs. Good luck
