Answers: All AC's are electrical/ mechanical equipment and need some service. If you are even slightly repeatedly inclined you can do it yourself. Remove AC from window, remove cover to expose internal motor and coils. If motor has grease ports, there will be little plugs in the ports, supply 3-5 drops of oil into each. The really crucial part is to be sure the coils are clean. There are 2 coils, one eject hot air outside, the other cool air inside. You should dry-clean these down so as to get them as clean as possible, this will increase value, and reduce load on the compressor.
