We have a rugged wired smoke detector system- every time the electricity goes out, the alarms turn off----they even have freestyle back ups (and yes, the battery are NEW!). We have replaced the alarm twice that have triggered the alarm system- to no avail, it keeps scheduled...Why does this happen? Is it a problem beside the wiring? AND if its a electric wiring issue, do i call an electrician, inspector, or alarm system??
Answers:    a few possabilities;
1).There brk brand and they basically suck (likely)
2).Too many on one ckt they may stipulation to be connected to a drycell relay with an added ckt.
3). bad detector
4). mixed brands, using two different types can inflict this.
5). with some brands it could be a miswired interconnect.
6). sharing a ckt near another fixture or device that produces a nonlinear load in recent times before power loss (such as a UPS)

7). sharing a ckt beside an alarm system that has a lesser voltage source
8). a fire
9). 100 or so other things that are unlikey and 4 or 5 that I probably haven't thought of.

If you have the instructions for the system, check if they own a power failure alarm function. Some of the system do own that function and the loss of voltage will trip the alarms. Since you have replaced the section twice that caused the alarm, I would look contained by the junction box above that element for a bad chain connection. It is rather possible that a loose or intermittent connection surrounded by the circuit can cause the problem.
