Why does my mower engine cut-out at greater rpm,s and when blade is affianced at superior RPM's? I just bough ta used Murray 18HP Twin II mower w/46"...
I just bough ta used Murray 18HP Twin II mower w/46" deck. Put surrounded by a new drive starter, battery-operated and spark plugs. It started up, but when I go to full throttle efficiently, it dies out unless I pull the throttle backbone fast plenty.
If I move the throttle up slowly, I can get it to run. Then when I try to grip the blades, it cuts out unless I am throttled back.
I be able to mow my sward, but had to enjoy the choke partly out or it would cut out.
I be told the mower di sit last year minus running. I put some carb cleaner in a spanking new tank of gas, but haven't run it through however.
BTW Briggs & Stratton Engine
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Answers: It sounds to me resembling the fuel mix is too lean. Check to see if there is a filter on the fuel file that is plugged up. Make sure near isn't any sediment in the fuel container plugging up where the fuel flash is connected. Another thing to check would be the fuel reservoir cap. It is supposed to be vent. There should also be a screw on the carb that is for fine tuning the mixture, and you usually unscrew it to richen the mix.
Not too sure around this, but if there is too much alcohol contained by the gas, it might result in the engine burning too lean, but it would enjoy to be more than 10% ethanol (E10).
