Answers:    not sure exactly what you mean, but on the bottom section of staples is a type of anvil that is designed to fold a staple as force is applied. on some staplers the anvil is reversible to fold that staple inwards or outwards. if you are referring to why staples "misstaple" and finish up in a distorted guide..it is just a hiccup, caused by any one of more conditions, staple malfunction , misalignment, jam, ect.
