I have an inground pool next to a jacuzzi filter. The backwash hose drains out onto my drive way. When I backwashed today, the driveway be full of sand. The filter is running fine outside of this problem. Does anyone know what happened & how it can be fixed?
Answers:    Sounds to me approaching you had DTE (diatomaceous earth) contained by your filter. DTE is often part of the pack of the filter media and help to clean the sea by filtering out particle that would pass through cloth and serious newspaper filters.
The sand deed as filter in your filter system. When you back wash your filter you reverse the process and all the second-hand goods would flow out leaving more room for the latest junks that will latter accumulate. I am sure surrounded by times you'll need to replace the sand for the filter system to be effective.
