I was of late wondering why it seems take valves are other used in hose down lines over ball valve? Also what is a butterfly valve used for?
Answers: bubble valves are to unproblematic to accidently turn off
Cost. Gate valve are cheaper. Not sure what you mean by butterfly spout. If it is what I am thinking (the gate swings start on and shut with the touch from the top center) they are used a lot for metering the supply. Most own a mechanism on top to lock the fiddle with in the desired position.
