My whirlpool range used to blare when I set the temp, turned it on, etc. Now the beep no longer sounds. I've had several problems near the range so I'm concerned this is a precursor to something else. Is there a instrument to fix the beep?
Answers: Yes, cutting power is the first item to try. You can do it at the breaker box which, if marked, is easier than pulling it out and unplugging it.
You might want to find your manual and see if turning the beep off is a programmable function. It is programmable on some models and sometimes people accidently hit the wrong buttons and receive in the program mode without realize it.
But most often it is just a glitch and adjectives power essentially reboots the computer.

Try unpluging the range for about 5 min.s and next plug it back in, sometimes things approaching that reset themselfs.
