I went to Lowe's and Home Depot to find a product to polish my travertine floor, but didn't see any products that is to say specific for use to polish travertine stone. I want to polish my travertine floor and make it a litttle shiny. Please facilitate. thank you
Answers:    I've installed quite a bit of tile... and I've never hear of a travertine polish. Most polishes either A) contain a granular substance to scrape stale a layer and reveal a fresh, shiny branch beneath-
you can't usually use these on travertine... see excerpt below
....or they....
B) just cover next to a glaze approaching a car wax would- MAYBE these would work but I'd focus they'd make your tile slippery and unsafe.
So... you are stuck next to the factory finish of your tiles. What you can do to improve shine is verbs it really well, after use a good sealer. Glaze n Seal is apt, as well as 511 Impregnator..& both are fine for travertine.

Here is a citation:
Travertine: Usually a cream or reddish color. It is formed through the backlog of calcite from hot springs. It contains lots of holes that were formed from sulphur bubbles consumption away at the stone. These holes are often packed with synthetic resins or cement that usually do not polish very in good health which often cause polished travertine to look inconsistent in appearance. It requires more running when the holes are not filled (called cross cut). Classified as a limestone and a marble, some Travertines can be polished and others cannot. Travertine must be protected near Stone Spray-N-Seal and cleaned with Marbalex.
