Where can I bring back hand-me-down honeywell gas tap for 30+ year behind the times boiler? I am a pensioner who "inherited" an Ideal e-type boiler (G.C.No....

I am a pensioner who "inherited" an Ideal e-type boiler (G.C.No. 4139741) with the house. I am told I call for a 240v Honeywell gas valve 4292A1091..2. I enjoy phoned lots of suppliers and tried lots of places advertised on the internet, in need success. Does anyone know a supplier who might comfort? (I am told that if I can't get one, I hold to replace not just the boiler, but the entire inner heating system - which is not surrounded by my budget!)

Answers:    I suspect you are stuffed to be honest, production of that boiler ceased surrounded by around 1970 and all parts are very soon withdrawn and unsupported.
In the UK it is not permitted to modify a gas appliance without consent from the manufacturer which fitting any other gas stopcock would be classified as. It may work but would almost certainly invalidate any insurances you have.
If you replace it there is a legitimate requirement for the new installation to gather round minimum standards which would mean your (probable) gravity hot hose system and unlagged tank would require replacement as all right as room and radiator thermostats at a minimum.
If you can photograph the valve and post it surrounded by the forum section of my modern site below I will see if it is still an obtainable item, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
If you are a pensioner and funds are tight you may qualify for a reheat front grant which will almost cover the cost of a replacement system... a boiler of this age will really qualify even if it was working.
How do you stretch out the top part...
240v gas spigot? Why can't it be replaced with another tap? Seems to me all you want to do is control the gas going to the burner and the system should be capable of convert over to 120v. Would be a lot cheaper than an entire up to date system.
Anyone know how I can profile a claim...
