When to shock pool? We have a summer rental this year near an inground pool......
We have a summer rental this year near an inground pool... the pool was open for us by the landlord and it is our errand to maintain it... I took a marine sample to our local pool supply store and they give me a bunch of chemicals to shock the pool... now, folks keep recitation us we got scammed?? The pool looks 10x better after putting the chems within, so I don't see how we were scammed.. but I don't know anything give or take a few pools... the water be cloudy, greenish, mericky color before shocking it... why does a pool have need of to be shocked? what does the shock do? And is there something else I could own done to fix our pool water? ...I hang on to getting mixed answers from ppl... I was told to shock it and immediately maintain it... and presently that the money was spent on chemicals I'm audible range that I didn't have to shock it, it in recent times needed chlorine... the pool was open a week ago with no repairs until this weekend when I shocked it... did I do anything wrong? was I scammed?
Answers: My Uncle have a private pool, and it seems that it is the best kept pool I've evern see. He shocked it this weekend- it kills any germs and algae/plant life and keep it clean and clear. Don't swim contained by it for a few days though!
I've found that sometimes it's cheaper & healthier contained by the long run, just forsaken the pool, scrub the walls down with clorox & dampen, & then fill up on. You can then supply chemicals to maintain the desired PH. You involve a test tackle, & test repeatedly. Keep chemical use to a minimum.
