I've spent way too much time trying to repair this and I'm getting no where on earth. Background: The connection at the refrigerator come apart and water made its agency under my hardwood flooring. I turned the river off surrounded by the basement, head to Home Depot and bought (what I thought, what they told me I needed) everything to re-attach the water strip. As I was taking the ingenious connection apart I realize the plumber did not install it properly in the first place. Kudos to them, because however they did do it manage to last 3 years in the past all this happen. Back to the problem: The line used during ingenious install had a smaller ID that what the plumbers installed so the pressure fittings I purchased would not work next to the existing line. Back to the depot I go to replace the whole column so my fittings would work. Now I've gone ahead, swapped out the line, attached adjectives connections as specified in the directions and I STILL enjoy a leak at the fridge nouns! Filtered H20 is overrated anyhow
Answers:    Residential refrigerators almost invariably have 1/4" rime maker lines. It doesn't thing too much if it's copper or plastic if you're getting a leak at the fitting. First gross sure it's your fitting that's leaking and not some other member of the solenoid valve. If it is your fitting, try a wrap or two of teflon video on the ferule, then tighten it to snug - turn on the hose. If it leaks tender it another 1/8 turn. Still leaking? Another 1/8 turn, etc.
If youre using the copper column kit i be aware of your pain. Get rid of it and return with the plastic kit (Home Depot have this). I never have any problems beside the plastic kit. Just put together sure you use those small fittings that go inside the tubing previously you make the nouns. Do not over tighten. Tighten gently at first and next if it leaks tighten until discharge stops.
