Yesterday, I saw this commercial about titanium cookware. I can't remember the brand heading. Did anyone use those? They claim to never burn your food, never stick and they say they cook short water or grease. Is any of this true? I mean seriously who would salary $220 for a small saucepan?
Answers: I would personally enjoy to borrow a titanium pan to testing all those claims myself. Cooking equipment (or anything else surrounded by life) rarely lives up to the hyperbole of promotion.
I have some stainless steel copper-bottom pan that have last 15+ years without a mark. Other people I know hold had these pan for 20+ or 30+ years. The whole 10-piece set be about $75-80 put a bet on in the day-- I mull over is is about $130 very soon. You don't need to constantly replace them approaching you do with teflon pan. On the other hand, I hold some great Caphalon pans that don't necessitate much oil (or any) for cooking and are vastly durable but they are hardly contained by the $200/pan range. Also, most those use a little bit of grease and some moisture for cooking.recipes telephone call for it, and it makes food penchant better.
I don't know about you but except for barbeque I do not cook outside. Unless you step backpacking every weekend where you necessitate to lug a small set of cookware around...I am not sure it is worth the price. The features you mention make like mad of sense for backpackers would need as little weightiness as possible. They can't lug a bottle of olive oil and a can of broth around surrounded by their packs and they necessitate something that heats up in the blink of an eye over a campfire.
So if you are a frequent backpacker and willing to spend the money, titanium cookware is for you. Note-- I mention backpacking and not camp, which can involve cars, cabins and RVs. Pan substance is not a factor in those cases.
