Your drain problem is not underneath the sink contained by the ''trap'',,,it is further on in the drain. This give it a chance to start breaking it up.
Answers: time to replace your gamble away pipe, you may get away near cleaning/renewing the trap beneath the sink waste, but I see this adjectives the time with pipes that are at lowest possible 10 years old, check the complete length of the waste pipe run too, if it go uphill at any stage this will slow the flow and allow easier clogging.
