What would be an average cost to enjoy a clean combi boiler installed?

British Gas has just quoted me lb3800 for a combi boiler 24 w (smallest as I am single contained by a small 2 bedroom house and use little hot water
Price inc one new radiator within lounge remove Baxi fire and back boiler one thermostat on radiator and carry out power flush and remove hot dampen tank.they have offered me lb400 discount if I sign on the dotted dash immediately. In the uk it is no longer legal to fit a combi boiler, it presently has to be a condensing boiler as these are more economical and therefore more environmentally friendly.
This time finishing year we paid lb3500 to have a combi boiler installed, adjectives valves on radiators changed to thermostatic ( a legal requirement now). The river cylinder from old system and tank surrounded by loft taken away. This also included lb 300 ish for two new radiators - so you can subtract that amount. We had quotes range from lb2000 to lb6000 but picked a plumber who was recommended to us. It took 3 days and we were short hot water for one night solely - and that was a hitch as he predicted no nights minus hot water. If it helps we are within London so costs will be slightly higher. Also included new thermostat. Choose a plumber who is corgi registered and can do the electrics too as some cannot and this incurs an extra charge. Good luck we have some horrid cowboys giving quotes and giving scare stories that my old boiler be condemned and meter was not earthed and adding hundreds for that!! It is extremely difficult to quote for fitting a combi boiler without surveying the job first. All i can utter is DON'T use British Gas or any other energy provider (i.e. N-Power) Their prices are extortionate and even with the supposed 'discounts' they are still far too expensive. Get lots of quotes from local companies and I can guarantee that BG's price will be conquered by miles..
You'll should be looking at anything from lb1000-lb2500 depending on the work and materials involved.
Answers:    Previous advice good. Times are sturdy for heating installers with credit crunch and time of year. Put the energy in and get three lowest quotes (not estimates). Make sure you know what you want. Don't procure 'snowed' by 'trade speak'. Make sure you get the right boiler. It must be condensing, and the bigger the better as you will get more hot dampen quicker. Look at flow rates. Stick to established makes, e.g. Potterton, Gloworm, Ideal, Vokera, Worcester Bosch, Baxi as reliability and spares will be important.
Yeah I'd close to to know this too, because to be quite honest we need one. We have need of a combi-boiler, new timer & new valve on the radiators.
