My casement window date from 1975. The insulation strip around the window is tough and there is immediately quite a draft. I in a minute spend $100-200 to cover all the window with plastic during the winter. The factory owner no longer makes this insulation strip. Any suggestions on what I can use to replace the strip specifically somewhat custom moldable so the window will still interested and close?
Answers: Take a chunk of it to a glass shop, they enjoy lots of different sources on weatherstrip. A window from 1975 have reached the expire of its life, consider of late getting a new pane with Low E coating on the chalice.
Dr. B - she is asking about the weatherstrip, not insulation.
The best agency is to remove the casement skylight, remove all of the frail insulation, remount the window and use DAP tex plus Window and Door FOAM SEALANT.which can be sprayed into the crevice in the skylight. The sealant will not expand and therefore will not injury your window. Refinish the windowpane and you are golden.
