We have lived contained by our apartment for over 4yrs. and we are about to move at the conclusion of this month. We did not pay a surety deposit 4yrs. ago. Our children have obvious on every wall (I know, I should have spanked them but they started at ages 1 and presently they are 4 and 5) with marker, pencils, crayons, you name it, it's on our wall. As long as we cover the markings in the past leaving we won't be charged because they hold to paint the apartment anyway but crayons are not considered normal wear and slit and so we may have to foot for that if we don't fix it. I just purchased a brand name ColorPlace interior latex general purpose white primer from Walmart as provided to me by someone whom work contained by the paint department and everything is bleeding through. We don't have much money but we inevitability to buy the correct paint.
My question is what description of paint should I buy that won't allow the marks to bleed through and how several Gallons for about the 540sqft- partly of our apt. sqft. should I buy.
Answers: The best thing is Kilz or any other brand of shellac primer. Unfortunately these primers are grease based to they are flammable and stink.
They do engender water base versions that are upright but not great like their grease based cousins.
None of these primers are cheap but they are almost the only piece that will work.
