My heat runs fine when I give notice the fan on, but when I switch it over to auto, i own no heat.

If your humidistat has not be set you need to almost turn it bad so there is virtually no play contained by the knob. That's what controls your auto thermostat.

Or, read the owners manual of your thermostat.
