We have two a/c unit. The one upstairs is blowing HOT air, so I've shut it down until I can own it repaired. Over the last week, the downstairs element is blowing cool air out of the vent, but it's not cooling the downstairs! We've even set it as low as 65 to try to cool it, but the temp. maintains at roughly 80. I do not understand the issue next to the downstairs unit. Is it newly overloaded due to the 85-90 degree warmth upstairs, or is there immediately a problem with both unit? (Clean airfilters are in both registers). Please, someone next to some expertise, help!
Your downstairs element may be undersized or need a charge, try closing stale the upstairs doors. Close any drapes over sunny windows. This might help out keep some of the bake from the downstairs.
Turning down the thermostat will not make it work any better, simply leave it at 72 or what ever you turn it to.

You own got a pretty appropriate load added to the downstairs system. Its not freshly the heat which tend to migrate up but the humidity which will migrate to the cooler areas.
Your downstairs system is probably not as efficient as it could be if you haven't have it serviced so have it checked at one and the same time.
Wouldn't be a bad model to let them know you want them to check the other system too so they calendar the person beside enough time to do it properly.
Answers:    Still not plenty info..

Depends on what you mean by a/c "units". If you hold two central nouns conditioners it is likely a thoroughly large house. So no surprise in that. And if two window or thru the wall unit then that is to say not surprising either that one can't cool the intact place.

If it is blowing lots of cold air, I don't know what you expect us to detail you. It is working. The rest has to do beside your house.

It takes a long time to cool down a place and cooling is individual partially as forceful as heating. So you can't set out it off adjectives day and come home and expect the temp to jump down very promptly. You didn't say it be running 24/7.

Set the temp and leaving it running adjectives day. It simply sounds resembling you have more fry than you can remove.

And if two central nouns units it wouldn't surprise me if the lower part was smaller since warmth rises and the upstairs would need more cooling. Plus cooling from the upstairs would tend to drift downstairs.

Good Luck

And yes, obedient ideas nearly keeping drapes closed to keep the hot sunlight out and insulate against fry coming from the windows.
