What is an electrical socket near four holes contained by the shape of a square? I just moved into a current condo in Chi, and bordering...
I just moved into a current condo in Chi, and bordering to all of the electrical sockets is another receptacle that have four small holes in the shape of a square. In total it is around the same size as a usual electrical socket, but it is square and has holes the size of a headphone jack. It seem like it might be a foreign socket, or something that I don't even know. Any assist would be greatly appreciated.
Answers: It sounds like a VERY outdated style of telephone jack, the first equals of removable equipment jacks. Prior to that, telephones be hardwired to the line. How frail is your condo? Do you have a pic you can post?
I suspect that this is the phone/internet and computer access jack. Probably a 4 section RJ45.
