What is a self-propelled meadow mower? It it different from a regular gas-powered walk-behind style?

Answers:    It just continuosly moves forward very slowly and you lately have to walk bringing up the rear it and direct it in the correct direction.
Self propelled mowers either hold a front wheel drive "drive wheel', or a rear controls drive, which is usually a belt, or a hydrostatic fluid enclosed in a film (Honda). Front wheel drives are easier to repair at home, whereas rear helm drives Must go to a repair shop~ FWD "jump" when 1st engaged, ~ RWD are smoother operating, but are a cramp if you let the bag catch too full~ Regular gas mowers have the best exercise~ Push type ~ ;>) the mower goes forward on its own as long as u hold up on the fiddle with...u dont have to push it.just approaching the walk behind type.
