i am putting a new masculine plug on an old extension cord. im not too adapted with electrical work. so if someone could explain what respectively color in this cord is.
white - ;
black - ;
green - ;
i hold an idea (white-neutral, black-hot, & green-ground) but i am not sure. i don't want to short anything out so could someone near more expertise than myself please explain. thanks a million
You nailed it!
You are correct.
Black=Hot
White=Neutral
Green=Ground
Answers: You own it right so far.
The black (hot) wire other goes to the brass fitting on the plug and the white telecommunication goes to the silver fitting and the green go to the green ground fitting.
This determines the polarity of the plug.
