Can it be re-blown?

Can more cellulose insulation be blown over top of it?

How much blown cellulose insulation should be used in an attic?
Answers:    I resembling DIYpro's idea of adding up fibreglass bats over the top of your existing insulation. Just don't use the ones that own a paper (vapour barrier) funding, and don't block any soffit vents. (If you want to place anything between the cellulose and the topical bats you can use "nouns barrier " http://joneakes.com/cgi-bin/getdetailsca...

As for concreteness that all depends on where on earth you live. Dense packed cellulose have an R-value of 3.8 per inch, fibreglass bats are rate at 3.14 per inch, but fibreglass will never settle. in most of Canada an r-40 is recommended for attics, so we put 12 inches of fibreglass.

A couple of things to examine out for: don't cover up any ceiling fixtures that require ventilation and beforehand you start working in your attic be sure that in attendance is no Vermiculite insulation. Vermiculite was used surrounded by the 60's and some of it was subsequent found to contain asbestos.
blow more in, compress to over top of ceiling joists
