We have a Kenmore electric oven and the oven boil element exploded lately and left a yellowish residue inside the over. We cleaned it out as best we could but in attendance is still a little residue departed over. Is it safe to restart the over while a moment or two of this residue is left over? is it toxic? What is a scorch element made out of and what would this powder be?

Answers: It's made of an alloy of tungsten and steel.
Tungsten has the property of not conducting
electricity in need considerable resistance.
When this resistance is overcome, the metal
gets hot. A scrawny strip will glow from the boil,
which you can see in a toaster.
If your oven factor is broken, from over heating or
something bumping against it, afterwards the electrical
circuit will be broken and it will no longer work.
If this is the cast, do not try to reconnect it. Have
an appliance repair service replace it.
If the oven fail to heat when turned on, turn the
oven rear legs OFF and call for service.
I don't mull over the residue is toxic.
I'm not sure, but I was told once that it be carbon. If that is the crust, it is best to try to clean as much as possible out. If you enjoy all of it out that you can go and get out, heat the oven to 450 or more and permit it sit like that for a partially hour. That "should" do the trick.
