Answers:    We use an infrared thermometer to measure the temp of the vent grill (which tell us the temperature of the heavens coming from the A/C vents). You can buy one at Sears for around $60. It has somewhat laser pointer that shows you where you are pointing it (and returns the temp in need touching).
