surrounded by our bathroom...the tiler cut the tile so that it would accomodate the pipes...& then he grouted the small part behind the pipes...& to be honest - it looks really devout. might be simpler than taking off the radiator!
p.s. oh..forgot to utter..the grout was matching colour as the tiles...so it hardly notice!
Answers: My brother in law's distinctive solution to this problem was to remove the radiator, drill a hole contained by the slate and slide the slate over the radiator pipe, then re-install the radiator. Tedious but it looks great.
