Washing electrical device trouble.? I have a GE Profile washer and it leak all over...
I have a GE Profile washer and it leak all over the floor from the front corner during the spin cycle. Any planning? How costly to repair? Should I just buy a exotic washer?
How old is it?
if its weak the probably time to replace it
if its less later 5 years its worth having it fixed
If it seep only during the spin cycle - and I presume it is when the wet is draining from the drum - it may be a very cheap repair. The drain pipe between the pump and the external drain pipe may be perished and as soon as the drain pump see in (draining the sea during spinning) the water is pressurized through the small cracks surrounded by the pipe.
I personally don't know a GE Profile washer. If it is a top loader, the above is most probably the problem. If it is a front loader, it may be the rubber stamp between the door and the body that is perished and the drum, while spinning, is spraying wet against the inside of the body of the washer and it is then flowing down to the bottom corner. With a front loader, the perished pipe problem may also exist.
If you can, and please be vigilant, you can remove the front panal of the toploader (2 screws/bolts at the bottom) or a front loader, remove the back plate of the washer (screws adjectives round the plate holding it in place) and visually inspect the problem while the washer is within operation. DON'T TOUCH THE INSIDE WORKING PARTS - YOU MAY LOOSE A FINGER OR BE ELECTRICUTED. It is for visual inspection single.
If you can identify the problem part, the module number will be on the part/pipe. You can then buy the member and replace it.
Always unplug the washer from the mains past touching the insides.
