I have a stackable kenmore washer/dryer unit and the washer adjectives of a sudden stopped working right before the rinse cycle. It didn't drain the water or anything. I tried different settings and zilch would work, it would keep stopping before the rinse cycle ( and i anticipate for like...hours.) Then all of a sudden it started working again out of nowhere and finished wash. What could be wrong with it?
The only difference I can see is that I used hot dampen this time instead of cold. Could that have anything to do with it?
Answers: A similar entity happened to me a few years ago. My washer was no longer spinning and rinising. The problem be the little button that gets pushed down when you put the lid down, that button starts the rinse/spin cycle. Well when the lid is up the spin/rinse cycle will not work. It is possible that the little button has fall down. Open and then slowly close your lid. You should be able to hear it click if the button is still at hand, click as it is making contact with the button. If the button has fall then you will not be able to hear the click. My husband other had to glue it spinal column in place, not sure if you are handy or know someone that is but it is pretty simple to do. The simply problem is getting the glue in at hand the right way. Just to let you know this will merely be a temp thing...if it is the issue. My husband was fixing ours almost ever 2 months until finally we got a new one. You enjoy to be real careful how complicated you put the lid down.
Good luck and hope it works for you!
Check the hot water valve behing the section and make sure it is on fully, if it is then your hot dampen heater must have be out of hot water or something, if it continues get a Sears technician out to look at it.
