Hi, I have a separate 220 line for my nouns conditioning Unit. Recently electricians needed to rewire the building I live in. Put in two tentative 3 prongs sockets. I just discover that when I turned my air conditioner on; here was hardly any power, even on elevated speed the fan was enormously slow. When I shut off all the circuit breakers; the AC component did not shut off - no circuit breaker for this line? Weird; also the two sockets aren't working any. They had a reset button and yet they won't work. I'm upset as capably as scare that they didn't know what they were doing. A neighbor near a 220 line has 7 circuit breakers,(two 20 switches within same panel). I only have 5. Four of which shows a 20 on the breaker switch (Type BR102; Type C102; 120/240 v ~; Cu/A/ SWD; HACR Type; Lister Cir Bkr; 1 Pole J-969; the fifth read 15 on the breaker switch Type TB; 1 Pole 120/240 VAC; HACR Type; UL Listed Cir Bkr; AD-6519. I'd like to tell mgment what the problem might be. Can anyone relieve me please!
They hooked the air handler up to 115 volts by mistake. Call them!
Why would you particularly care what the problem is if you didn't do it. Just return with the jerkoff "electricians" back to redo the assignment properly. If they didn't check their work when they were done they should be fined and their licenses pulled. The recepts next to the reset buttons are probably ground fault recepts, which are there for protection effective water, there may also be a reset button on the breaker for this circuit. Really doesn't nouns like these guys knew what they be doing. Sounds like you've got a bit of a mess near. There should definitely be a breaker which turns off the circuit which runs the A/C. And if the A/C element has a 220 plug on it, you may be drawing from only 1 hot splash instead of 2. Thus, the low power.
And the fact that neither of the new outlets is working clearly indicates that at hand was some improper or incomplete electric wiring done. Those "electricians" need to come back & do the employment right.
Answers: It definitely sounds like they hooked up something wrong.
Document everything contained by case your AC unit fail in the near adjectives. Drawing incorrect voltage could have damaged the section.^
