I have a 20year out-of-date boiler, but it works fine. Rads are old time ones want to make over to new. Would here be any problems doing this??

Answers:    if the system is 20years old,consequently ripping it out and fitting a complete new system would be the correct support to give you.
flushing the system and renewing the radiators might stockpile you some cash a short time ago now,but you will hold renew the boiler at some point.your present boiler might be reliable but it is far from efficent,and at the age it is,if it does break down you will struggle to get parts for it.
renewing the boiler at a after that time means the system will hold to be flushed again and you will still have adjectives the old pipework to assume about.

No problem, but if you're going to adjectives that trouble, I'd put a new boiler within too. The new ones are far more well-run and will save you money.
