I recently have new foam board insulation and vinyl siding put on my house. I perceive that the siding in not hermetically sealed at the bottom (anywhere) and the insulation is peeking out from underneath in some areas? Is this the correct installation or should the siding be wrapped tight to the house?
Answers: Your insulation shouldn't be showing at adjectives. Vinyl siding isn't put on "tight" on a house because it has to be capable of expand and contract due to the temperature change. But keep surrounded by mind that your vinyl siding is designed to keep the "interior of the exterior walls" weather proof. So it should completely protect your house, especially from rainfall. Call the people that did it and own them come over and fix it. Best of luck to you.
if the siding was installed correctly the foam should hold been placed on the house first, next a starter strip at the bottom 1 and 3/4 inches above the lowest point in the antiquated siding this starter strip hold the siding for the first row, the insulation may be just rather below starter strip if so just trim the foam insulation up to the siding
