It wasn't this bad when I first installed it, but lately it have become a constant annoyance. The heater compensates for a "cold spot" within the house, so I do need it.
I'm looking for any suggestions to muffled the fan rumbling, and I would like to avoid replacing the furnace.
Answers: The bearings on the electric motor are going out. You will involve a new blower motor soon. For a makeshift fix, try spraying a little DW40 within the motor where the shaft comes out.
Place a small amount of street lamp machine grease on the shaft, next to the motor, unless it have an oiler hole. You are hearing a dry bushing. It's call friction. The longer it runs, the warmer the bushing get.
