Value of a microwave? I moved into my apartment in September, and the apartment come...

I moved into my apartment in September, and the apartment come with a microwave hood combination already here. It's model number MH6300XM and the paperwork that come with have a date of 1984. We had a small apartment fire ultimate month, which ruined the microwave. Now our landlord is trying to charge us $272 and some adapt, and I know this microwave can't be worth that much. I also know that they can only charge us for the depreciated expediency of what they lost, and not for a new model. I be hoping someone could tell me something roughly the microwave... what it cost in 1984, or how much you deduce it would be worth now. The microwave be a turn dial and there be no rotating plate on the inside. I don't know if this helps. I entail to know what a reasonable price to payment for this would be. I know new ones turn for $160 up to $600, but I won't pay for a up to date microwave, and they can't legally charge me for one. Anyone know a website that I can look it up on?!
The hotelier isn't trying to recoup the cost of the aged microwave, he's trying to recoup the expense of a fresh one. The old oven be barely worth it's bulk in crumb metal due to it's age. Since it would be nearly impossible to find the same microwave made contained by the same year for mart, it is reasonable for him to charge you for a brand topical one (plus installation). Especially since it was you who destroyed the prehistoric one. And don't expect him to go to the insurance co. to directory a claim, that will end up costing him bearing more money in the long run. Legally perchance you don't have to compensate him, it depends on where you live, but morally you should. That mortal said, it's not unreasonable for you to ask for documentation (copy of receipt) before recompense.

SINCE YOU DO HAVE TO LIVE THERE WHAT IF YOU OFFERED TO BUY A NEW MICROWAVE?

This approach you can still be financially and morally responsible without emotion cheated. check the ads show him what you are predisposed to do and negotiate from there
Answers:    My first call for would be to his insurance company. If he has collected anything for the mar he is trying to get double salaried. That's a NO NO.

If he won't give you any information report him that he doesn't get a dime until he does.

I would also ask him where on earth he came up near that figure.
